It might be worth a trip to get a good one. If you got one from here in Middle Tennessee, I would offer to pick up the car, get it all checked and serviced for you, and you could drive it back. and you would still be under the 6k budget

My dad and I towed our ‘75 FJ40 to Central California , did a 4wd trip, and towed it back in a 2 week span. Cross country trips are great. Isn’t that the kind of thing you want a SC for anyways?
